Is there a Dublin wave going on? Well, there are at least two bands, the other being Fontaines DC. So maybe. But who cares.
Compared to FDC, The Murder Capital are a bit smarter, a bit less keen to make a statement. And by all accounts, more musically interesting.
It might take some time to get inside their energetic post punk. If you wish, you can just dismiss them as a band wanting to make it big, but not having the chops to actually do it.
Then you stumble over 'Green & Blue', which might at least sell them to the pop crowd. Then, brushing the volume control by accident, you might feel their energy. And slowly they've taken over a part of your head.
