The Black Angels

There's a genre. Bands you respect more than you like. They make you feel a bit stupid, because there's allegedly more to them than to realise. They're good at something you're not able to see.
Anyway. The Black Angels do so much right. Firmly rooted in rock's past, with a supposed, but not obvious, link to the present. With energy. And they do something not so right. Something you'd be tempted to call ballads, which never quite succeed.
It's no big deal. The times I return to this album (which I quite like, don't get me wrong) I put on 'Comanche Moon' and see how far I get. Life could be worse.
