Grim Town

There is a space somewhere between soul and folk, where modest songs come to blossom. Where you would expect mumbling and desperation, but what you get is a proper show.

What lifts SOAK from her peers is probably her confidence, her geniunely positive outlook, not to strut, but to walk down the street with a spring in the step.

Let the album grow on you. Smile at the quirky spoken introduction (by her grandfather) and let two instant winners hit you: 'Get Set Go Kid' and 'Everybody Loves You', the latter an Adele number in disguise.

The rest might come across as not as easy or pleasurable, but there's much quality to be had.
