QTY are from New York. The singer has a Lou Reed-y tinge to his voice, both in intonation and overall fatigue.
Their debut album is produced by Bernard Butler. The production is transparent and clear. Everything is right there for your ears to catch, but it somehow lacks focus and dynamics. Nice swing to it all, though.
So. A dry and sparse NYC outfit with a Britpop swagger? A bit of both, but too ambiguous to nail one or the other. Nice, cool pop? Sure.
