If the name Hooton Tennis Club sounds local to you, you're right. Their second album is a bag (or a box, rather) full of hometown characters and tales. A bit Beatles-esque, maybe. A collection of narrative pop songs. And it's good pop. Classic, with a touch of the everyday. If you need proof of what it can do, try 'Bad Dream …'. Britpop for the 21st century.
They do tend to sound too much like a wedding band at times, but in the long run it's their winning charm that sticks.
