What Chaos Is Imaginary

Apart from certain fun ruptures (see review of previous album Powerplant), Girlpool used to feel like a band with a certain sound. A jangly, nineties lo-fi one, to be more precise.
Now they're back with a new confidence. Capable of exploring different realms, as it were. Admittedly within more or less the same general landscape. More importantly, there's patience to let ideas breathe.
So there's more of the good stuff, with added sparkle. What's not like? (Even better songs, but I'll leave that for a rainy day.) If you need directions, please start exploring the dynamic duo of the title track and 'Hoax and the Shrine'.
