The age of concept albums was not over after all. The Bride follows an unlucky woman who's left at the altar, through songs with titles as true to the concept as 'I Do', 'Honeymooning Alone' and 'I Will Love Again'.
Nothing wrong in the consistency department, then. Even if you don't listen closely to the lyrics you still get the idea and the atmosphere. Which in turn matches Natasha Khan's cold and silky voice perfectly.
My problem with this record is its lack of musical ideas. I can live with the fact that 'Sunday Love' is a bleak version of 'Daniel' off Two Suns. But the overall impression is of a musical well run dry.
